Christian Education

Christian education is at the very heart of the church. In the educational process the Spirit of God encounters people of all ages so that they are nurtured in faith, grow in knowledge and experience, and are inspired and empowered to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. The Christian Education Committee at Trinity Presbyterian Church has the responsibility for all educational opportunities, events, and programs for children, youth, and adults in the church, and for the budget to sustain the aforementioned activities. The specific areas of concern involve church school, vacation bible school, bible study, camps and conferences, confirmation class, and Ready, Set, Worship class.

Traditional Sunday School is not currently meeting due to COVID-19.

Infant through Four-Year-Olds—staffed by our nursery worker, Clarice Robinson and volunteer teachers. The crib nursery is in room 3. Preschoolers meet in room 5. These classrooms are joined by a half-door. A nursery is provided during the Worship service.

While Sunday School classes are not currently meeting, typical classes have included:

The Present Word: a teacher led Bible study for adults, using PCUSA curriculum, and led by Marion Chandler. This class meets at 10:00am.

Thinking the Faith: A DVD based adult discussion class, currently studying “Reading Biblical Literature–Genesis to Revelation.” This class meets at 9:45, and is facilitated by Frank Staley and Gerry Shiver.

The Christian Education committee is currently chaired by Jenny Dearing. For more information, please email [email protected] and include “ATTN: CE committee” in the subject line.
