Youth

Our youth also meet occasionally for fellowship and service opportunities, such as hiking, cookouts, concerts and other social activities. They have participated in such things as Socktober, collecting socks for those who are homeless in Columbia, and in making cookies and cards to send to some of our more senior and homebound members. They also hold fund raisers to raise money for their activities and projects, such as the Spaghetti Supper in December and, in the past, have held a Car Wash in the fall and spring, in conjunction with the Men’s Barbecue.

Middle Schoolers are encouraged to attend the annual Middle School retreat, High Schoolers, the annual High School retreat, and all children and youth are encouraged to attend our Presbytery’s Camp Fellowship during the summer. We recently celebrated 4 young people joining the church after a 12-week Confirmation Class, led by Pastor Robyn.

Our youth traditionally participate in a Summer mission trip week, either locally or out of state. They have been to places such as rural Tennessee, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, and rural Virginia.
